Audible Magic Corporation Acquires License for Motional Media ID™ (MMID)

MMID Provides Powerful Technology That Can Identify Video Content in Seconds

LOS GATOS, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- November 28, 2006 -- Audible Magic Corporation, a world leader in content management and anti-piracy services to the media and entertainment industries, has announced the addition of a new technology for its content recognition platform for video. The company has licensed an innovative patent-pending technology known as "Motional Media ID™" (MMID) that can identify video content in seconds, and can provide video rights holders with control over unauthorized copying, as well as to enable new business models for revenue generation.

Unlike previous video identification technologies which require intensive data processing and large databases, the new technology will provide identification performance at speeds in a fraction of real-time. MMID™ requires relatively simple processing and is a versatile, robust and accurate method of identifying movies, television programs, games and other motional media.

The MMID™ system relies on the generation of signature vectors associated with the content. No two movies or TV programs have the same vector sequence. The resulting vectors are stored in a secure central database that is accessible on networks, the Internet or by wireless systems such as cellular phones. The information in the database can be organized to comply with current international standards or can be determined by the holder of the rights to the content.

Commenting on the new technology, Vance Ikezoye, Audible Magic co-founder & CEO states: "With the explosive growth of video content on the Internet, MMID™ is a vital new technology coming at the right time and to the right place." Ikezoye states, "We believe that the industry requires a comprehensive set of technologies and services that provide practical control over unauthorized distribution and revenue generation. This announcement is an important component of our overall solution platform for video. We will rollout additional components of this platform over time. These capabilities will enable a new period of control for legitimate rights-holders in digital media."

MMID™ was invented by David W. Stebbings, who said: "I am very pleased that Audible Magic has decided to help bring this technology to market. They have gained an enviable reputation in the audio field and with the extraordinary increase of broadband technologies; the movie and television industries are seriously concerned about the unlawful distribution of their assets. Audible Magic has decided to meet that challenge". Stebbings, a well known scientist having more than 30 years of research & development experience, is holder of more than 40 patents world-wide. He was Senior Vice President of Technology for the RIAA from 1995 to 2000, and was co-chair, representing the Worldwide Music Industry, of the DVD-A Copyright and Specification committees.

This technology will supplement Audible Magic's product and service offerings to identify and manage video content including movies and television programs as well as to enhance its existing offerings. The company currently offers video services that identify soundtracks of videos using its industry leading audio technology. The technology is scheduled to be released into production in early 2007.
