Audio Video Systems Unveils New Facility During Open House

Design, Engineering and System Integration Firm Hosts Technology Expo and Open House

CHANTILLY, VA--(Marketwire - Apr 20, 2011) - Audio Video Systems (AVS) held their first ever open house on Wednesday, April 6th at their newly established headquarters in Chantilly, VA. The day featured a technology expo, product learning sessions and tours of the company's newly constructed 72,000 sq. ft. building, which is soon-to-be LEED certified.

More than 200 customers attended the event, with the large majority from government agencies in the DC Metro Region. The day was based around providing them with information on cutting edge technologies while also showcasing what makes AVS one of the leading system integration firms in the industry. The company's recent substantial growth has caused it to not only double in staff over the last few months, but also build out some of the unfinished spaces in its new facility.

The vendor learning sessions allowed customers to get to know the products in an intimate setting where questions were encouraged. Some topics included AV integration and programming, secure video teleconferencing and flat panel display technologies.

The technology exhibit area featured vendor representatives from 22 prominent companies in the audiovisual (AV) industry: KBZ Communications, Crestron, Extron, NEC Display Solutions, Christie, Draper, NewComm Technologies, Panasonic, DMJ Technologies, Polycom, Sony, QSC Audio Products, Sigmet Corporation, PESA, Middle Atlantic, AMX, Sanyo, Liberty, Biamp, SMART Technologies, Da-Lite and Audio Associates.

"Overall, I thought the Open House was a success," commented Kathryn Cordina, Director of Government Sales for AMX. "I was able to effectively interact with potential clients, customers and the AVS staff. The event was well executed and very beneficial for AMX to attend."

AVS is expanding and growing so much that another office in Huntsville, Alabama was recently opened. The expansion was precipitated by being chosen to provide audiovisual integration services to the U.S. Army Material Command's (AMC) six-story headquarters being built at Redstone Arsenal, AL.

Not only is AVS growing in numbers and location, but many milestones have recently been recorded. The company reported its highest annual revenue in 2010 and won many local business awards in the DC region.

Michele Ferreira, VP of Sales and Marketing at AVS, commented, "The Open House allowed our customers to see firsthand not only what AVS does but also to meet our talented and dedicated staff. Their hard work has been the backbone of our recent success. The event was a great experience and something we plan on holding on an annual basis."
