Audyssey Throws Its Support Behind the Indie Music Scene With a New Blog

Audyssey Presents: The Neighborhood to Celebrate Urban Indie Music Epicenters

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - March 2, 2011) -  Audyssey, a leader in audio technology for the home, automotive, mobile and theater markets, recently took the wraps off The Neighborhood (, a blog that spotlights emerging talent from the bustling indie music scenes in the urban neighborhoods of San Francisco's South of Market and New York City's Lower East Side, with more neighborhoods in the works.

"Everything we do at Audyssey is rooted in music," said Robb Mason, Audyssey's vice president of marketing. "With a company full of musicians and a portfolio of technologies designed specifically for audio, we thought that blogging about cool bands we enjoy was a great way to throw our support behind the indie music scene."

While The Neighborhood blog showcases emerging bands, there is also a direct tie-in for Audyssey with its monthly Neighborhood events. Starting last year in the South of Market neighborhood, Audyssey began promoting "The Neighborhood," an event focused on multi-genre music that serves as a mini-celebration of local music. Being able to find the bands, provide them a venue to play shows and then feature them on a music blog unifies the vision and tells the whole story of how Audyssey approaches local music.

"The Neighborhood is the showcase for our monthly music events, which continue in San Francisco and soon will kick off in New York. Starting off with two very diverse urban neighborhoods rich in cultural and music history is a great beginning to this program that will include cities not only nationally, but also globally," added Mason. "It is our hope that we can create a viable platform for music information and, by doing so, become a good partner to local bands in these respective music scenes."
