Aurora Feint Leads Industry Into Real Time Multiplayer Gaming on iPhone

OpenFeint Opens Up Beta Program for Multiplayer Support to Be Released This Fall

BURLINGAME, CA--(Marketwire - September 1, 2009) - Aurora Feint Inc., the company that launched the highly acclaimed series of RPG puzzle games for the iPhone, announced today the company has opened its private beta developer program for Multiplayer support for its hugely popular OpenFeint platform which has accumulated 2000 registered developers to date.

In OpenFeint 2.5, a developer gains the ability to rapidly deliver multiplayer experience to end-users with no server-side development and deployment needed. OpenFeint plans to make 2.5 publicly available this Fall, ahead of the holiday season, so developers have plenty of time to release multiplayer games for the holiday season.

OpenFeint 2.5 will be free to integrate for developers and free for players to use. Developers interested in working with Aurora Feint should visit http://openfeint.com/developers for more information, and to enroll in the Private Beta program.

OpenFeint 2.5 Feature Details:

--  Player Presence - Real-time notification of player's friends' online
    status, allows a player to know when his/her friends are online to start or
    resume a multiplayer game, send instant messages, etc.
    
--  Turn based support, long and short form - Server side hosting/support
    for turn based games including ability for one or more players to 'pause'
    and 'resume' play over time.
    
--  Matchmaking - Players seeking opponents can search and pair up by game
    specific abilities, geo-location, game session type, etc.
    
--  Network Memory Card - A server side place for games to keep any data
    related to a player and allow it to be shared with their friends or the
    world. Some examples include in-progress games, single-player save games,
    player statistics, etc.
