Aurora Flight Sciences Engineer to Participate in US Frontiers of Engineering Symposium

CAMBRIDGE, MA--(Marketwire - Sep 13, 2012) - Aurora Flight Sciences is proud to announce that Jeremy Hollman, Propulsion Group Lead at Aurora's Research and Development Facility in Cambridge, MA, has been selected by the National Academy of Engineering (NAE) to participate at the NAE 2012 US Frontiers of Engineering Symposium. The participants from industry, academia, and government are nominated by fellow engineers or organizations. This year seventy-eight of the nation's brightest young engineers aged 30 to 45 who are performing exceptional engineering research and technical work in a variety of disciplines will attend the Symposium. The goal of the program is for engineers from all engineering disciplines to facilitate cross-disciplinary exchanges and promote the transfer of new techniques and approaches across fields in order to sustain and build U.S. innovative capacity.

Jeremy Hollman joined Aurora in 2007 after working at SpaceX and Boeing. At Aurora, he has worked on projects ranging from very high altitude aircraft, to micro air vehicles, to micro spacecraft. He has four (4) patents either awarded or pending in areas ranging from high altitude propulsion for UAV's to small satellite propulsion concepts.

"It's an honor to be selected to participate in such an event. To get a chance to meet and share ideas with a great selection of researchers will be a wonderful opportunity," stated Mr. Hollman.

The symposium will be held on Sept. 13-15, 2012, at the General Motors Technical Center in Warren, Mich., and will examine serious games, vehicle electrification, climate engineering, and engineering materials for the biological interface.
