Australian Pacific LNG Awards Contracts for Coal Seam Gas to LNG Mega-Project in Queensland, an Industrial Info News Alert

PERTH, AUSTRALIA--(Marketwire - January 12, 2010) - Researched by Industrial Info Resources (Sugar Land, Texas) -- Australia Pacific LNG, a 50:50 joint venture between Origin Energy Limited (ASX:ORG) (Brisbane, Australia) and ConocoPhillips (NYSE:COP) (Houston, Texas), has awarded three key upstream contracts since December 24 for a coal seam gas (CSG) to liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Queensland, Australia. The A$35 billion project brings together Origin's 10 years and ConocoPhillips' 25 years of CSG experience, as well as ConocoPhillips' 40 years of experience in operating and developing LNG facilities. The company is developing Australia's largest CSG reserve base into a 14 million-tonne-per-year CSG-to-LNG project. The gas fields are located near Roma, Queensland, about 400 kilometres inland from Gladstone.
