Author and Former Kaiser Permanente CEO, George Halvorson, Presents "Affordable Care, Healthy People and the Next Priorities" at the Corporate Leadership Breakfast

Hosted by Larkin Street Youth Services and PwC US, the Event Benefits Homeless Youth

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Jan 29, 2014) - Larkin Street Youth Services and Title Sponsor PwC US will host the annual Corporate Leadership Breakfast on February 6, 2014, at the City Club, attended by members of San Francisco's business community. This year's guest speaker, George Halvorson, author and Chairman and CEO, Kaiser Permanente 2002-2013, will present "Affordable Care, Healthy People and the Next Set of Priorities for Us All."

"The basic ways we think about care improvement can change care for the better," said George Halvorson. "Change is overdue because the current financing system rewards bad outcomes, rewards mistakes, cripples efficiency, and undersupports good health."

"PwC is a proud supporter of Larkin Street and its extensive programs aimed at helping homeless youth get off the streets and preparing them for productive adult lives," said Jim Henry, market managing partner for PwC San Francisco. "As part of our corporate responsibility strategy, we are committed to doing our part to help educate and improve opportunities for the local youth in San Francisco. We hope that our contributions and volunteer support will impact both the youth directly and the greater Bay Area community as we focus on developing the next generation."

Larkin Street has served over 75,000 youth since first opening in 1984. The Corporate Leadership Breakfast raises funds and awareness to help support Larkin Street as they deepen their programs including housing, education, employment and support services. Larkin Street serves about two-thirds of San Francisco's homeless youth and is the primary provider of housing for transitional age youth in San Francisco. For every young person who exits street life, society saves more than five times the cost of long-term intervention.

The breakfast will be held at the San Francisco City Club, February 6, 2014, 7:30am-9:00am. For more details and to receive a press pass, contact Nicole Garroutte, (415) 673-0911 ext 305 or ngarroutte@larkinstreetyouth.org
