Autodesk Signs on as National Sponsor of Cleantech Open

Partnership Provides Design and Engineering Software and Training to Accelerate the Development and Commercialization of Cleantech Innovation

REDWOOD CITY, CA--(Marketwire - September 15, 2010) - The Cleantech Open -- the world's largest business competition devoted to finding, funding, and fostering successful cleantech businesses -- announced that Autodesk is the Cleantech Open's first National Sponsor. A world leader in 3D design, engineering and entertainment software, Autodesk is supplying up-and-coming cleantech startups with the tools and technologies they need to innovate, design, engineer, and successfully bring to market the most innovative clean technologies.

Autodesk is offering up to five licenses of the following Digital Prototyping software products to all of the Cleantech Open contestant semifinalists and alumni as part of the Autodesk Clean Tech Partner Program, which provides software to early-stage clean technology companies to help them develop and commercialize their new product ideas more quickly:

  • Autodesk Revit Architecture
  • Autodesk Alias Design
  • Autodesk Algor Simulation
  • Autodesk Inventor Publisher

More than 100 Cleantech Open competitors or alumni are currently engaged in the Autodesk Clean Tech Partner program, including trailblazers such as Adura Technologies, Alphabet Energy, Hydrovolts, Green Lite Motors, Micromidas, and tru2earth.

Autodesk is supplying free* software training to each semifinalist team through Autodesk authorized resellers such as Applied Engineering, D3 Technologies and ImaginIT Technologies. Additionally, Autodesk employees are serving as mentors for the teams competing in the Cleantech Open, providing another resource for the young companies to draw upon.
