Autonomic Software's Power Manager for McAfee, ePO Gets Top Grades in Ovum Study

ANSA ePO Power Manager Should Be Shortlisted by All Existing or Prospective McAfee ePO Environments Because It Is Tightly Integrated With the Security Platform

DANVILLE, CA--(Marketwire - Mar 6, 2012) - Autonomic Software, Inc. a leading enterprise power reduction, network management and security solutions provider, said today that the company is very pleased with the new Ovum Report "Selecting a PC Power Management Solution Vendor." The report carefully details Autonomic Software as a company, power management solution provider and focuses on the deep integration of ANSA Power Manager into McAfee's ePO (ePolicy Orchestrator).

"We are delighted with this Ovum report. The Report places heavy emphasis on SCCM compatibility and many features that are germane only to that desktop environment. We chose to partner with McAfee and Intel, and for their clients, we are by far the best alternative," said CEO Tony Gigliotti.

Power Manager, ePO's strengths extend far beyond conventional solutions. Because of its integration with McAfee ePO, deployment and implementation takes minutes not weeks and the price structure guarantees clients have little, if any, hardware, software, or implementation costs. Client's costs are either paid via utility rebates, or handled by Autonomic's Performance Management agreement. The agreement calls for Autonomic Software getting reimbursed on what the client actually saves. No savings; no payment.

"We see deployment, implementation, and price as three of the most important aspects of any I.T. decision, and none were considered in the Ovum Study. Consider those, and we are miles ahead of anything else," continued Gigliotti.

ANSA Power Manager and ANSA Power Manager for ePO manages power settings on desktop and laptop computers. The solution is policy driven and can set policies for the enterprise, groups, or individual computers. The McAfee ePO version is deeply integrated and utilizes the ePO console, database, reports generator and the overall security of one of the safest platforms on the planet. Wake-On-LAN makes it possible for both versions to wake up computers for maintenance and upgrades, and put them back to sleep when finished. Clients routinely save $45 to $65 per computer per year.
