Avaya President and CEO Kevin Kennedy to Keynote at Enterprise Connect 2011

BASKING RIDGE, NJ--(Marketwire - February 16, 2011) -   Avaya Inc., a global leader in business collaboration systems, software and services, today announced that Avaya president and CEO, Kevin Kennedy, will deliver a keynote address at Enterprise Connect 2011, the industry's leading enterprise communications conference and exhibition. Kennedy will discuss the current state of the multimedia communications industry, including why business collaboration is an important element to enterprise communications and how it is changing the way businesses operate and people interact. The keynote will take place at 11:15 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Gaylord Palms, Orlando, Florida.

Kennedy will address Avaya's leadership in business collaboration and how the company is uniquely positioned for the new multimedia communications industry. Since last year's conference, Avaya has launched a broad range of innovative solutions, including the Avaya Flare™ Experience, Avaya web.alive and video solutions for every size business, as well as new and expanded offers in unified communications, contact centers and data networking.

"There's a fundamental shift underway in enterprise communications," said Kennedy. "SIP changes the very nature of communication and collaboration and transforms the possibilities for users. Complexity is reduced as productivity improves, costs go down and performance goes up. Rethinking the user experience in terms of unified communications-based, multi-modal 'sessions,' opens the door to a broader set of collaboration capabilities and provides an on-ramp to cloud services."

In addition to Kennedy's keynote at the conference, Avaya's presence will be highlighted by the Avaya Flare Experience, which has been selected as a finalist for the Best of Enterprise Connect 2011. Announced in September 2010, the Avaya Flare Experience is the industry's first, next-generation user experience that delivers unique collaboration capabilities across video, voice and text, providing a simpler user collaboration experience. Winners will be announced at the show on Wednesday, March 2, 2011 at 9:00 a.m. Eastern.

"The Best of Enterprise Connect recognizes companies that have made major technological advancements within the market, and we believe that the Avaya Flare Experience embodies all that this award aims to achieve," said Eric Krapf, chairman of the Enterprise Connect judging committee. "This year's finalists represent a cross-section of innovators and market leaders whose contributions are delivering the next-generation in the enterprise communications industry, and we applaud them for their continued innovation."

The Avaya booth #801 on the Enterprise Connect exhibit floor will showcase the latest Avaya unified communications and collaboration products and solutions, including the Avaya Flare Experience, Avaya Aura®, Avaya ACE™, Avaya web.alive as well as contact center, small-medium business and data networking solutions. The Avaya presence at the show will include an Innovation Lounge, where invitation-only guests will see the cutting edge of enterprise communications.
