Avaya President and CEO Kevin Kennedy to Keynote at VoiceCon Orlando 2010

BASKING RIDGE, NJ--(Marketwire - March 15, 2010) - Avaya, a global leader in enterprise communications systems, software and services, today announced that Avaya president and CEO, Kevin Kennedy, will deliver the opening keynote address at VoiceCon Orlando 2010, the industry's leading enterprise communications conference and exhibition. Kennedy will address the new era of business communications wherein open standards, sessions and contextual communications bring cohesion to multi-vendor environments and drive greater collaboration and productivity for employees. The keynote will take place at 9:00 a.m. Eastern on Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at the Gaylord Palms, Orlando, Florida.

Kennedy will address how Avaya has delivered against the product roadmap it announced earlier this year and discuss how Avaya is integrating legacy Avaya and Nortel solutions to create next-generation enterprise communications architectures.

"With open platforms like SIP, we're in the early stages of a transformation that will be as powerful as the transformation from a protocol called TCP/IP to a communications phenomenon called the Internet," said Kennedy. "The next generation of enterprise communications architectures will give the business user intuitive control over voice, video, presence, IM and social media in multi-vendor, multi-modal environments. The result is a new user experience that's far more powerful than anything you see in the enterprise today."

Avaya's presence at the conference is highlighted by the selection of Avaya Aura™ Midsize solution for enterprises (AAMS) as a finalist for the Best of VoiceCon Award. AAMS is a single-server, unified communications solution for businesses as small as 100 employees and scalable up to 2400 users and 250 locations. Using Avaya Aura System Platform technology, AAMS provides a broad range of applications including voice, messaging, video, application enablement, software media services and full SIP capabilities, enabling them to perform in a virtualized environment with the same ability that they would have if installed on dedicated servers.

"The Best of VoiceCon Award recognizes exhibitors who have made major technological advancements within the enterprise communications industry," said Eric Krapf, VoiceCon Program Co-Chair. "We applaud all participating companies for their continued innovation and look forward to presenting the Best of VoiceCon award onsite at VoiceCon Orlando."

On the VoiceCon exhibit floor in Booth 801, Avaya will showcase interactive technologies for small, medium and large enterprises. Attendees can experience first-hand how Avaya solutions for unified communications and contact centers can help streamline communications for businesses of all sizes. Avaya executives and subject matter experts will also participate in educational, panel and roundtable sessions during the conference, including:
