Aventail Launches Localized Product and Expands Presence in Korea

Korean Product, New Office and Partners Mark Aventail's Continued Commitment to Korean Market

SEATTLE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- August 11, 2005 -- Leading SSL VPN technology company Aventail is aggressively expanding its presence in Korea. The company recently released a Korean version of the Aventail Smart SSL VPN and announced a distribution agreement with a leading IT services company. Aventail also this month opened an office in Seoul managed by a networking industry veteran to provide sales and technical support to the company's growing channel base in Korea.

The Korean version of the Aventail Smart SSL VPN platform addresses the requirements for Korean customers to utilize the SSL VPN appliance with a native interface. Aventail is already a leading player in the Korean SSL VPN market, with key enterprise and service provider customers, including Hyundai Mobis, Korea Telecom Freetel (KTF), Namyang Aloe, Hanil Construction, Seoul Semiconductor and Ace Technology, among others. Aventail has also been recognized by leading IT publications, Digital Times and Electronic Times, winning the prestigious HIT IT Product award three times in a row.

Korean-based IT services company, Feelatech, will distribute and support Aventail's SSL VPN appliances, which deliver a single solution for all remote access, providing universal application reach to even complex applications like VoIP with complete security and control. This agreement complements the company's existing partnership with WaveTech, an Aventail distributor in Korea.

"After a thorough evaluation, we selected Aventail because of their technology leadership, world-class support, and proven reputation in the SSL VPN market space," said Park, Dong Hyun, president and CEO for Feelatech. "Aventail's market leadership and extensive level of product functionality strengthens our secure remote access offering and enables us to deliver a true best-of-breed solution."

The Korean office will be led by security and networking veteran Yong-Seok Joo. Joo joins Aventail from Nortel Networks where he was responsible for the deployment and implementation of their Alteon and security product lines. He also held various technical positions at LG CNS, Saerom Soft, and Chungnam University.

"Our increased presence in Korea is proof of our continued commitment to deliver product development and sales support to the Korean market," said Michael Ang, vice president of Asia Pacific for Aventail. "Demand for Aventail's remote access solution in Korea has grown exponentially due to the large number of mobile employees with broadband access in Korea."

With the opening of its Korean office, Aventail now has a direct or channel presence in Singapore, Japan, India, Australia and New Zealand, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan, as well as throughout North America and Europe.
