Aventail SSL VPN Wins Mobility Product of the Year by Network Awards

Aventail Chosen by Independent Judge Panel In Prestigious IDG Awards

SEATTLE, WA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- June 27, 2005 -- Aventail EX-1500 Smart SSL VPN won the Mobility Product of the Year by Techworld.com Network Awards. Aventail is the only SSL VPN vendor to receive this year's prestigious IDG award, which recognizes the very best in every field of the network industry and rewards the leading individuals, teams and companies for innovative and effective use of networking and telecommunications technology.

Winners were chosen by an independent panel of judges, which included both industry executives and technical journalists and editors. While specific criteria were not released, Aventail's overall usability and access options were instrumental to its winning status.

One of the judges had this to say about the Aventail SSL VPN: "Obviously the judging criteria remain confidential, and each judge's opinion is his or her own, but on a personal basis I can say that the significant upgrade to the GUI and overall usability of the EX-1500 between versions 7 and 8 made a vast difference to my opinion of the unit when I reviewed it for Techworld back in February '05," said Dave Cartwright, Techworld awards judge and managing director of Korana, Ltd. "The fact that you have a range of client options depending on what equipment you have to hand is an intriguing idea too, and helps make the EX-1500 something more than 'just another VPN server'."

Aventail SSL VPNs are designed specifically to enable increased productivity for teleworkers and other remote and mobile users, while minimizing associated risks and costs. With the Aventail SSL VPN solution, companies can provide remote users complete mobility and transparency, so they can work more productively from anywhere with absolute security.

"Aventail is delighted to be recognized by Techworld Network Awards for the best Mobility Product of the Year, as our whole goal as an SSL VPN company is to empower all users, even mobile road warriors, to work from anywhere on any device," said Tony Caine, vice president and general manager, EMEA region, Aventail.
