Aver Inc. Earns Rigorous HCI3 Certification

Certification Verifies Capabilities in Episode Construction, Severity Adjustment and Provider Attribution

COLUMBUS, OH--(Marketwired - February 11, 2016) - Aver Inc., the leader in helping the industry transition from fee-for-service to fee-for-value, and provider of a patented data management platform that simplifies the healthcare reimbursement process, today announced it has earned Health Care Incentives Improvement Institute™, Inc. (HCI3) certification. Achieved through an intensive testing and validation process, the certification allows Aver to cater to the new stream of health systems, insurers and other groups who are building their value-based payment initiatives.

The certification makes Aver only the fourth Evidence-informed Case Rate™ (ECR) Analytics certified partner from HCI3, a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality and affordability of healthcare through evidence-based incentive and payment reform programs.

"We're so excited about achieving HCI3certification," said Elaine Daniels, director of network strategy at Aver, Inc. "This certification is a feather in our cap that means we have achieved the gold standard. We now have the ability to bundle 80-90 percent of all of healthcare, depending on the population, with their algorithm."

To achieve HCI3 certification, Aver used their patent-pending Episode Builder to model a series of complex episodes of care and applied the HCI3 requirements on a set of test claims. For each episode, Aver compared detailed outputs to ensure they matched the expected outputs from HCI3. Aver received verification that the outputs matched at all stages, including building the episodes and applying risk adjustment.

The certification verifies Aver's capabilities for episode construction, severity adjustment and provider attribution. These capabilities will enable Aver to help their health systems and insurers scale their value-based payment initiatives, design better networks and appropriately compare provider performance.

"Aver's accomplishment in becoming certified cannot be understated because it's a very tough bar to achieve," said Francois de Brantes, executive director of HCI3. "We now look forward to collaborating closely with Aver in the years to come to support the growing number of bundled payment implementations across the country."
