EAST HAMPTON, NY--(Marketwire - Jul 24, 2011) - Last night, Avi Oster sponsored the WordTheatre's "Speaking in Tongues," an evening of world class performances in support of the Pushcart Prize Fellowships, the endowment for The Pushcart Prize, considered one of the most important publishing projects in American history. "Speaking in Tongues" brought the stars of Boardwalk Empire, True Blood, Avatar, Law & Order and more with Pulitzer Prize winners, Guggenheim Fellows and PEN/Faulkner recipients. Together they celebrated The Pushcart Prize, an annual anthology of stories, poems, essays and memoirs selected from hundreds of small magazines and presses throughout the world. WordTheatre is dedicated to inspiring a love of language and literature by presenting live performances of contemporary short stories with renowned actors and authors.
The evening was a busy night for Oster. He and his sister Jane Oster were also selected to Vanity Fair writer George Wayne's list of New York's "50 Most Fabulous People" at Wayne's 50th birthday celebration.
