HUNTSVILLE, AL--(Marketwire - March 2, 2009) - Avocent Corporation (NASDAQ : AVCT ), a global
leader in IT operations management,
today announced that both Dudley DeVore, Senior Vice President of Global
Branded Markets and Mike Hall, Vice President of Global Sales have been
named to CRN's list of top Channel Chiefs in 2009. The distinction from
Everything Channel's CRN places both Hall and DeVore among the top 44
Networking and Unified Communications Market Executives in the country.
CRN's annual Channel Chiefs awards name the year's top movers and shakers,
spotlighting those executives who consistently innovate, promote and
execute successful channel partner programs and strategies.
"Effective channel executives consistently ensure that the Channel's voice
is heard when strategic decisions are being made and continually nurture
mutually profitable relationships," said Robert C. DeMarzo, SVP/Editorial
Director, Everything Channel. "This year's Channel Chiefs are strong
channel advocates and we applaud them for their successful partner programs
and strategies."
Under the direction of DeVore and Hall, Avocent grew channel sales in 2008,
developing fresh partner incentive programs, channel tools and business and
technical training resources, helping its partners to grow their businesses
well into 2009 and beyond.
"The strength of leadership and determination displayed by Mike Hall and
Dudley DeVore, along with their respective teams, offers our partners real
business value," said Mike Borman, Chief Executive Officer for Avocent
Corporation. "Avocent is bolstered by both executives' continuing
commitment to build strong channel networks through the ongoing development
of innovative tools and programs that drive our partners' growth and
success."
Now in its seventh consecutive year, the CRN Channel Chiefs list recognizes
distinguished candidates who have successfully demonstrated strength and
innovation in policies and programs implemented over the previous year.
Additional criterion include the success of those programs, the revenue
generated through channel partners, the willingness of those partners to
speak publicly on behalf of the channel, and the number of years each
candidate has dedicated to their channel activities.
"Being named a Channel Chief is a great honor -- an honor we share with our
teams," said DeVore and Hall in a joint statement. "This award speaks to
the strength of our partners who are the key component in Avocent's
successful delivery of its solutions."
