Award: MTD Names Dan and Diane Hennelly 'Tire Dealer of the Year'

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL--(Marketwired - Sep 17, 2013) - Dan and Diane Hennelly, co-owners of Hennelly Tire & Auto Inc., are winners of Modern Tire Dealer magazine's 2013 Tire Dealer of the Year Award.

Dan, chairman and CEO, and Diane, vice chairman and CFO, were chosen to receive the industry's most prestigious award from more than 33,000 eligible independent tire dealers throughout North America.

Thanks to the Hennellys' leadership, The Tire Choice & Total Car Care chain has grown to 35 retail stores in Florida in only nine years. They employ 350 people.

The company was started by the Hennellys in 2004. "We have to stay focused on customer satisfaction for the long-term growth of our business," says Dan. "Winning in the short-term will never, ever be part of our culture."

Hennelly Tire & Auto, which does business as The Tire Choice, is 31st on the Modern Tire Dealer 100 list of top independent tire dealer chains in the United States.

A $9,000 donation from Modern Tire Dealer and the suppliers buying congratulatory ads will be made in the Hennelly name to Autism Speaks, an organization dedicated to funding research into the causes, prevention, treatments and a cure for autism.

The Hennellys are Modern Tire Dealer's 21st Tire Dealer of the Year, the highest honor that an independent tire dealer can attain. Nominees are evaluated on their business success, marketing skills, management skills, industry knowledge and community involvement. They were chosen by a panel of five independent judges.
