Award: POLICE Magazine Wins Best Public Safety Trade Magazine at WPA Maggie Awards

LOS ANGELES, CA--(Marketwire - May 19, 2008) - POLICE Magazine won best Public Safety/Trade Magazine at the Maggie Awards presented by the Western Publications Association. POLICE Magazine's September '07 issue took the top honor for Best Public Safety/Trade. September features included Inside the NYPD Bomb Squad, How to Photograph Injuries, Retention Holster Showdown, Car Bombings, Crimes at ATMs, Off-the-Clock Robbery Response, Seizing and Searching Passengers and more. POLICE Magazine is published monthly for American law enforcement officers of all ranks. Its mission is to provide entertaining, informative, and thought-provoking content that will help officers do their jobs more efficiently and more safely. The Maggies, known as "the Oscars of the magazine industry," received nearly 2,000 entries representing more than 500 magazines. A total of 88 Maggies were handed out at the awards banquet held on May 2nd, 2008, at the Westin Hotel LAX. Nearly 600 publishing professionals attended this black-tie affair.
