Award-Winning Entagen CEO to Lead Big Data Webinar Hosted by Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening

NEWBURYPORT, MA--(Marketwire - Nov 12, 2012) -   Entagen, a fast-growing software company providing Big Data analytics and collaboration solutions across the enterprise, will be participating in a webinar tomorrow, November 13, at 9:00 a.m. EST with the Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS). Dr. Christopher Bouton, CEO of Entagen, will lead the hour-long webinar entitled "TripleMap: Next Generation Semantic Search & Analytics for Life Sciences."

Bouton will give an overview of Entagen's TripleMap software, which helps companies identify opportunities and uncover patterns by connecting data from a variety of sources. TripleMap allows users such as biologists, chemists, patent attorneys, market analysts, and clinical trial specialists to search through and analyze the entities and associations between entities in the secure, high-performance Semantic Data Core technology, which aggregates structured and unstructured data and continuously scans both internal and external data sources. Users share this information visually by creating dynamic knowledge maps that capture associations between entities. TripleMap can be securely deployed within an organization's firewall or hosted in the cloud.

A study by IBM shows that we create 2.5 quintillion bytes of data every day, which means that 90 percent of the data in the world has been created in the past two years alone. TripleMap provides a platform that allows companies to make sense of this data. TripleMap can be used by a retail company to help identify patterns based on items and accessories that shoppers buy; it can help pharmaceutical companies in their research and development efforts by identifying unexpected associations and novel patterns; it can help healthcare organizations identify specific patient cohorts, detect fraud and analyze trends; it can be used by legal firms to connect information relevant to cases.

"I am thrilled to present this webinar to SLAS members and others who are interested in learning more about how Big Data can help businesses across many sectors connect the dots between the enormous amounts of data they are handling," said Bouton.

Those interested in the webinar can visit the SLAS website to register; registration is free for members. SLAS is an international community of more than 15,000 individual scientists, engineers, researchers, technologists and others from academic, government and commercial laboratories. SLAS provides forums for education and information exchange to encourage the study of and advance laboratory science and technology for the drug discovery, agrochemical, biotechnology, chemical, clinical diagnostic, consumer product, energy, food, forensic, pharmaceutical, security and other industries.
