MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - April 12, 2011) - Works on paper represent some of the most important prints, drawings, and photographs that document our cultural, social and historical milestones. This year, AXA Art joins its sister company AXA Insurance (Canada) headquartered in Montreal in support of Quebec's only art fair where the work of both artists and dealers of works on paper are celebrated.

From Friday April 15th through Sunday April 17th, works by an exciting line up of more than 400 artists represented by 38 galleries from Quebec, Ontario, and British Columbia will be presented by Papier 11 in Place des festivals, Montreal.

AXA Art's, President and CEO of North American operations, Christiane Fischer, will co-present a VIP benefit evening on Thursday April 14, 2011 along with Mr. Eric Bujold of Banque Nationale, in recognition and support of the ongoing work of _ AGAC and its president, Jean-Frannçois Bélisle, in promoting the visual arts community in Quebec and especially for their concentration on the works on paper category, through Papier.

AXA Art was founded some 50 years ago by collectors who understood that art represents more than aesthetic beauty or wonderment. As a global art insurance specialist, the company works with collectors to safeguard and ensure the optimum survival of their art collections, including works on paper.

As part of AXA Art's commitment to preserving the longevity and value of collectors' cultural heirlooms, in 2010 the company directed the resources of the AXA Art Research Grant through le Centre de Recherche sur la Conservation des Collections (CRCC) of Paris, a unique research lab, to examine preventative measures to protect the value of sensitive art objects a large portion of which includes photographs, prints, drawings and watercolours.
