Axcient Expands Executive Leadership Team

Trio of Channel Veterans Join Company to Drive Partner Recruitment and Productivity

Axcient has named Thomas van Overbeek to the board of directors, Paul Dippell to the board of advisors, and Chris Sterbenc as vice president of sales. These three will be responsible for guiding and executing Axcient's channel-focused business model, and for ensuring Axcient's continued growth as a leading provider of data protection and business continuity services to the SMB market.

Thomas T. van Overbeek

For nearly 25 years, Tom van Overbeek has led early-stage advanced technology companies to successful investor outcomes by leveraging his strong channel expertise and execution. As CEO of Shoretel, he led the turnaround team that built the foundation for the company's growth; as CEO of WavTrace, he led a company turnaround with an eventual sale to Harris in 2000 for $175M. Van Overbeek was the CEO of Cornerstone Imaging from its startup phase through its IPO in 1993. Cornerstone was later purchased by EMC in 2001.

Paul C. Dippell

Paul Dippell has more than 25 years of experience building, running, acquiring, and integrating IT solutions companies and is often a featured speaker at IT solutions industry events on the topics of successful channel business model strategy and operations, as well as mergers and acquisitions. Dippell is founder and CEO of Service Leadership, Inc., a leading solution provider channel consultancy and publisher of the Service Leadership Index of Solution Provider performance. Additionally, Service Leadership advises leading global IT manufacturers on channel and SMB customer product and services strategies.

Chris Sterbenc

Chris Sterbenc is a seasoned sales executive with more than 20 years of experience in the technology industry. Most recently, he architected the MSP and reseller channels for Untangle, Inc., a provider of network security solutions for SMBs. Prior to Untangle, Sterbenc was vice president of sales at NCompass Labs, which was acquired by Microsoft Corporation. At Microsoft, he held the position of general manager, content management solutions and managed Microsoft's significant revenue growth from sales of its content management system software. Additionally, before NCompass, Sterbenc served as vice president of sales at the launch of Rainmaker Systems, a leading business process outsourcing company in the Silicon Valley.
