AXLE Studio Enters North American Market With SMB-Focused Business Intelligence Platform for the PC Desktop

CMA and Controller of Metal Components Manufacturer Firth Rixson Liberates ERP Data for BI Analysis and Cuts Time Spent Churning Data by a Factor of Four

OTTAWA--(Marketwire - December 20, 2007) - German Business Intelligence software company AXLE Studio GmbH has entered the North American market with a $1,095 per seat product called AXLE Studio 2007 that offers real-time synchronization across multiple vendors' databases and/or ERP, CRM and SFA systems. AXLE Studio also configures to deliver end-user reports, dashboards and ad hoc multi-dimensional cube analysis.

"Axle Studio 2007 is a multifunctional BI platform suitable for the development of complete end user applications using multiple databases in the creation of trending, performance monitoring, and business reporting requirements," says Bruce Ringrose, President of AXLE Studio Canada Inc. "Unlike many BI platforms, no server software or dedicated hardware is required, so AXLE Studio really opens up BI to a much larger SMB market that's previously been shut out of this software category due to complexity and cost issues."

The significant productivity gains that Controller and CMA Stephen Clark experienced at Rochester, NY-based metal components fabricator Firth Rixson Inc. are typical of what can be accomplished with AXLE Studio 2007.

"Our ERP vendor offered proprietary report-writing software but it was expensive and very hard to master," says Clark. "I didn't have the time or money to implement something like Cognos or Business Objects -- solutions that demanded a huge data warehouse project. So I turned to a trusted I.T. supplier, Gary MacFarlane, the Founding Partner of Kitchener, ON-based Dynac Inc."

Using AXLE Studio, Dynac's team helped Firth Rixson create abstraction layers on my ERP, sales and manufacturing data, combining five or six tables together from different data sources. In the finance area alone, AXLE Studio is saving one salary a year. "I now spend 10 to 15 percent of my time working with data as opposed to 60 to 70 percent," says Clark. "I maximize the time spent getting answers about the business versus tackling technology. What used to be a six-day month-end closing cycle is now down to half a day."
