Axolotl, Certify Data Systems, and Lanier Team Up to Enable Paperless Physician Office

Western Medical Associates Completes Electronic Chart Using Distributed Scanning Technology

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- March 22, 2005 -- Axolotl Corporation, a leading provider of health information management products and services, Certify Data Systems, and Lanier Worldwide announced today that they have executed an agreement with Western Medical Associates (WMA) of Santa Cruz to provide the scanning hardware and software, interfaces, and database applications needed to move to a paperless office. This partnership brings together Axolotl's Elysium EMR and skilled interface services with Lanier's versatile multifunction hardware devices and world-class service and Certify's scan management software.

"Using Elysium, WMA already gets close to 100% of its laboratory, radiology, and transcription results online. By adding scanned documents, we plan to complete the electronic chart and become completely paperless," stated Satish Chandra, MD, medical director of WMA.

WMA Executive Director Don Pretre said, "Lanier made us an attractive offer with state-of-the-art multi-function scanners and fax machines that link through Certify's highly intuitive scanning and indexing software to Axolotl's Elysium EMR. This linkage enables the staff to scan paper documents into each patient's electronic medical record. With the addition of scanned images of incoming letters, memos, referrals, and reference lab work, our physicians will have access to a more complete patient information record via any computer with secure Web access, and our staff will have minimal paper to manage."

Axolotl CEO Raymond Scott stated, "We were looking for a reliable partner, with experience in the healthcare arena, to provide a complete scanning solution. Lanier Worldwide and their partner Certify have the most cost effective and advanced technology, providing for a seamless and easy transition to a paperless medical record for our physician and hospital clients."

Lanier Business Development Manager Bill Parkey added, "Axolotl has powerful applications that we as a document management solutions provider look for when integrating Lanier solutions into our customers' business processes. By working with Axolotl and Certify to deliver a cost-effective and unique scanning solution, we bring our mutual customers closer to a paperless office and allow physicians and administrators to dig out from beneath mountains of paperwork that jeopardize the health and/or safety of the patient and the practice."
