Ayasdi Continues Industry Accolades, Receives Four Major Innovation Awards

Company Wins GE/NFL "Head Health Challenge" Award, Is Recognized by Fast Company as One of the World's Most Innovative Big Data Companies, and Is Only Company to Receive Two Gigaom Structure Data Awards

This continued recognition reflects the growing impact of Ayasdi's pioneering approach to help solve some of the world's most complex problems, such as cancer research, energy exploration, and fraud detection. Ayasdi enables organizations to automatically find insights in complex data and to discover the answers to questions they did not know to ask. By eliminating the need to formulate hypothesis or write queries, Ayasdi's approach allows data scientists and domain experts to reveal breakthrough insights in minutes.

The latest accolades are:

The GE & NFL's "Head Health Challenge" Grant: Working with its partner, the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), Ayasdi was one of 16 winners and the only software company recognized with this honor. Launched in March 2013, the Head Health Challenge is part of the Head Health Initiative, which is a four-year, $60 million collaboration between GE and the NFL to speed the diagnosis and improve treatment of traumatic brain injury. Ayasdi and UCSF will use the $300,000 award to explore MRI and CAT scans of the brain, paired with clinical data, to identify subpopulations of athletes who are more likely to experience persistent symptoms, such as depression, anxiety or PTSD, following a concussion or traumatic brain injury.

Fast Company's "The World's Top 10 Most Innovative Companies in Big Data": Ayasdi was chosen by Fast Company editors for "using a visual approach to take the guesswork out of big data." The company was also recognized for breakthrough work revealing genetic traits of cancer survivors, tracing the source of an E. coli outbreak, and helping the Institute for the Study of War, a Washington, D.C.-based think tank, to discover patterns in terrorist behavior in Iraq.

Gigaom's "Structure Data Award 2013 - Editors Choice Award and Readers Choice Award" for Being an Innovative and Promising Data Startup in the Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence Category: The Editors Choice award was given to companies that make the collection and analysis of data a key part of their user experience. Ayasdi was recognized in the machine learning/artificial intelligence category, noting that, "Ayasdi's topological data analysis technology analyzes and visualizes large, complex data sets so experts can focus their energy on investigating correlations rather than on finding them."

Ayasdi was also the Readers Choice award recipient in the same category, making it the only company to be recognized as innovative and promising by both Gigaom editors and readers.
