Ayasdi Names SAP Executive as Worldwide VP of Sales

Shane Paladin Joins Executive Team With Enterprise Sales and Big Data Experience From SAP to Drive Ayasdi's Next Wave of Growth

PALO ALTO, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 22, 2013) - Ayasdi (www.ayasdi.com) today announced that Shane Paladin joined the company as the VP of Sales. He is responsible for all Sales and Business Development functions in the company and reports directly to Gurjeet Singh, Co-Founder and CEO of Ayasdi. Shane joins Ayasdi from SAP Americas where he was the VP of Sales responsible for high-tech and manufacturing, including responsibility for selling HANA, SAP's analytics and Big Data platform.

"Shane not only deeply understands how to successfully drive exponential growth, but he is also passionate about helping our customers find answers to the most complex and expensive problems that they face," said Gurjeet Singh, Co-Founder and CEO of Ayasdi. "Shane joins Ayasdi at an exciting time. We've assembled an experienced leadership team, secured more than $40 million in funding, and seeing strong demand from the market. Adding Shane will help us take the business to the next level."

Shane spent the past 7 years at SAP and was part of the business analytics and technology sales effort that launched SAP HANA -- driving sales and customer adoption from product launch to maturity -- and propelled it into a market leadership position. Prior to joining SAP, Shane was part of the founding team at FocusFrame, a management consulting firm and reseller of the SAP TAO product, which was acquired by SAP. He brings over 15 years of enterprise sales management, sales execution, and management consulting experience. He also had meritorious service in the United States Army.

"Ayasdi's approach to Big Data is the most unique and powerful that I've seen. Every enterprise struggles with finding 'insight' needles in the 'data' haystack and Ayasdi automatically finds the insights that no one knew were there. I deeply believe that this technology will change the world," said Shane Paladin. "I look forward to working with Gurjeet and his team to capitalize on Ayasdi's success -- particularly in Financial Services, Government, Life Sciences, Oil and Gas, and as we expand into other verticals."

Ayasdi counts several large enterprises and organizations as customers and collaborators, including Citigroup, Merck, Anadarko, U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), Mount Sinai Hospital, Texas A&M University, and Harvard Medical School.

Shane's appointment is just one of a series of additions to Ayasdi's executive team that strengthen the company's Big Data and large enterprise computing expertise. These executives include:

  • Gary Hagmueller, CFO who came from enterprise subscription commerce leader Zuora,
  • Pek Lum, Chief Data Scientist & VP Solutions who spent a decade at Rosetta/Merck,
  • Vikram Makhija, VP of Engineering who spent 8 years working on VMware's flagship product,
  • Harlan Sexton, Co-Founder & VP Research, an Oracle veteran with 30+ software patents, and
  • Jeff Yoshimura, VP of Marketing who spent the last decade at Salesforce.com and Zuora.
