Azimuth Systems Announces Industry's First Scalable MIMO Wi-Fi Engineering Test Solution

ADEPT-n MIMO Test Platform Improves Product Quality and Accelerates Time-to-Market of 802.11n Products

ACTON, MA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- May 14, 2007 -- Azimuth Systems, Inc., the leading provider of Wi-Fi engineering test equipment, today introduced the new ADEPT-n MIMO test platform, a scalable solution for testing 802.11n products that will allow vendors to improve Wi-Fi product quality and speed time-to-market. The ADEPT-n MIMO test platform is the industry's first single-box, point-to-multi-point tester that enables repeatable performance, interoperability and functional testing of 802.11n devices. The platform provides a flexible framework for semiconductor vendors, device manufacturers and service providers to test client and access points, as well as to conduct protocol testing using advanced built-in capture capability.

As the Wi-Fi market transitions to 802.11n, the ADEPT-n will succeed Azimuth's award-winning W-series 802.11 a/b/g performance test platform, currently in use by vendors representing more than 90% of the Wi-Fi industry. The ADEPT-n adds 802.11n testing capability with support for 4x4 MIMO paths and includes DIRECTOR™ II, Azimuth's second generation test executive software, featuring an intuitive user interface and powerful new test building capabilities that accelerate testing and lower the overall cost of test.

The ADEPT-n provides customers with a powerful testing platform for 802.11n product design, design verification testing (DVT) and quality assurance (QA) testing. This enables design engineers to test and debug performance algorithms or analyze traffic protocol across communication states; DVT engineers to validate interoperability between MIMO and/or SISO products; and QA managers to run regression tests or benchmark tests using standard scripts such as range and roaming, or by running custom scripts.

--  Configuration flexibility allowing cascaded ADEPT-n units for
    sophisticated multifunctional DVT/QA testbeds.
