Azuki Systems Further Strengthens Executive Team

Company Appoints Andy Roberts as Vice President of Advanced Technology and Mark Basler as Vice President of Business Development

ACTON, MA--(Marketwire - June 17, 2008) - Azuki Systems, Inc., an innovator in the interactive mobile media technology market, today announced that it has expanded its executive team with the appointment of Andy Roberts as vice president of advanced technology and Mark Basler as vice president of business development. Together, Roberts and Basler bring Azuki almost 50 years of technology experience. This news follows the company's June 3rd announcement, highlighting its development of the industry's first comprehensive platform for enabling interactive mobile media services.

"With the addition of these experienced and talented individuals, we have built an executive dream team," said Jim Ricotta, CEO of Azuki. "Today's mobile market is headed for massive growth and with the expertise of our team -- combined with the already-successful reception of the Azuki MashMedia Platform -- Azuki is poised for great success."

In his new role, Roberts is responsible for product prototyping and advanced design. He brings 23 years of Web services, visual design, application development tools and SOA-oriented design experience to this role. Previously at Bowstreet, he led the technology direction of the company as CTO for five years, where he co-invented The Factory, which is now the leading tool for portal-based J2EE application development and is now sold as IBM's Portlet Factory. Prior to Bowstreet, Roberts was VP of product planning and design at Parametric Technology. Earlier in his career, Andy was a product manager at both Bank of Boston and Citicorp, working on various credit card and security technologies. Roberts has a bachelor's degree in physics from Harvard and a master's in mechanical engineering from MIT. He has authored several patents in the areas of 3D user interface controls and dynamic Web application generation.

"I am honored to join the Azuki executive team, whose impressive experience solving difficult industry problems will certainly help lead Azuki to greatness in this large growth market," said Roberts. "It is also exciting to be working with a truly unique product that is enabling consumers' streamlined navigation with snackable forms of media that is then easily shared with friends and colleagues."

As vice president of business development, Basler is responsible for strategic account development and distribution relationships at Azuki. He brings more than 24 years of deep mobile content and digital media industry experience to his role, along with a solid record of growing sales and strategic partnerships for emerging and established businesses. Prior to joining Azuki, Basler was vice president and general manager at IMG, a worldwide leader in sports and entertainment marketing and media, where he most recently led the IMG/Sprint venture to create made-for-mobile content for Sprint's PowerVision channel. Previously, he was a co-founder and senior vice president at InformTV, a spin-out from Avid Technology. He has also worked closely with handset OEMs and mobile operators while serving in executive business development and marketing roles for several display technology startups. Basler has an MBA from the Babcock School of Management at Wake Forest University and a bachelor's of science degree in electrical engineering from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee School of Engineering.

"This is a very exciting time to be joining Azuki," added Basler. "Having recently unveiled the Azuki MashMedia platform, we're looking forward to rolling out additional customer trials and to bringing the product out more widely to a market with clear demonstrated demand for what Azuki has developed."
