BacTech Completes Drilling Program on Snow Lake Arsenopyrite Stockpile

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 27, 2011) - BacTech Environmental Corporation ("BacTech" or the "Company") (CNSX:BAC) today announced that it has completed its previously announced drill program (see news release dated May 4, 2011) at the arsenopyrite concentrate stockpile situated at Snow Lake, Manitoba.

A total of 299.3 meters of sonic drilling were completed in 33 holes. The holes were drilled on a grid at 20 m spacing to obtain core from the entire stockpile. One half of the core was retained in Snow Lake as a permanent record, with half the core taken for geochemical and metallurgical samples. Some 409 geochemical samples were taken at 50 cm intervals.

On May 13, Ralph Newson, the independent Qualified Person ("QP") on the project, sent samples to the Saskatchewan Research Council laboratory ("SRC") in Saskatoon for analyses. These will be used to calculate a National Instrument 43-101 ("NI 43-101") mineral resource estimate; analytical results will be released upon receipt. The remainder of the core has been shipped to Inspectorate Exploration and Mining Services Ltd. in Vancouver, B.C., where it will undergo bioleach test work to determine the best approach to processing the stockpile material.

The water in the 227,000 tonne stockpile is reported to contain 20 ppm arsenic. Based on historic data provided by the Manitoba Geological Survey (Economic Geology Report ER86-1), the stockpile is estimated at approximately 227,000 tonnes with an average grade of approximately 9.6 grams per tonne of gold. This is an historical estimate, dated 1996, and does not constitute a Resource as defined by NI 43-101.

If the results of the sampling program are positive, BacTech proposes to reprocess the stockpile using bioleaching technology which is intended to stabilize the contained arsenic and recover the gold for its own account.

MaryAnn Mihychuk, P. Geo. and a director of BacTech, oversaw the drill program on behalf of the Company. Ralph Newson, P. Geo., a consultant to BacTech, visited the property from May 11 to 13 and oversaw the sampling of the core. Mr. Newson is the independent Qualified Person within the meaning of NI 43-101 and has reviewed and approved the content of this release.
