Bag of Hope: Edmonton Charity Hoping for Biggest Campaign Yet

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Nov. 1, 2013) - Edmonton charity Bag of Hope is asking the public to help them make this their most successful campaign ever. Bag of Hope distributed 250 backpacks in 2012 and is aiming for 300+ for Jasper Place Health & Wellness Centre and Mosaic Centre.

This year Bag of Hope is working with fantastic sponsors like CTV Edmonton and CFCW radio Edmonton and Camrose, and ADESA Edmonton Public Auctions. Take a Stance Productions & DV-Ate Catering will be providing 200 Christmas dinners for Bag of Hope's distribution night and some of the Edmonton Eskimos will be in attendance on December 17, 2013 to distribute the bags for the less fortunate. Also $10 from the sale of every guest room at Radisson Hotel Edmonton South between December 20 - 27, 2013 will go to filling Bag of Hope's backpacks through their "Friends in Need" program.

Bag of Hope was started in 2006 by teenager Jesse Michaud who was able to distribute over 1500 backpacks in 5 years. BubbleUP Marketing has been running the charity for 3 years and have been very lucky to have received amazing support from the Edmonton and area population and businesses.

Bag of Hope is calling on the public to start helping them prepare for this year's campaign. They are looking for donations of new items from the famously generous citizens of Edmonton.

Ideal donations would include:

• CLOTHES: Women & Men's hoodies, warm socks, warm gloves and long underwear (top and bottoms)
• TOILETRIES: shampoo, razors, shaving cream, deodorant for both men and women
• soap bars or liquid, first aid kits, band-aids, toothbrushes, toothpaste, toilet paper
• FOOD: granola bars, cup-a-soup, other items that can be opened without a can opener

The bags will be stuffed and delivered on December 17, 2013.
