Balanced Insight Launches Online Seminar Series Focused on BI Information Exchange

'The BI Knowledge Exchange' Encourages Dialogue on Ways to Solve Business Intelligence Delivery Challenges

CINCINNATI, OH--(Marketwire - January 20, 2011) - Balanced Insight Corp., a leading provider of Business Intelligence (BI) delivery software, announced today the launch of the Business Intelligence (BI) Knowledge Exchange, a quarterly online seminar series open to BI practitioners. Participants are encouraged to join the conversation on ways to solve the most common business intelligence delivery challenges.

The BI Knowledge Exchange offers participants access to industry leading BI thinkers and practitioners who will share their perspectives on the issues, strategies and best practices required to make fast, informed decisions for today's organizations.

"Organizations have been doing business intelligence for almost 20 years. Yet, we remain challenged as to how best to deliver BI solutions that make the business more productive and improve performance," says Tom Hammergren, Founder and CEO of Balanced Insight. "Our goal with the BI Knowledge Exchange is to create highly interactive learning events for idea generation and problem solving to address those challenges, and strengthen the BI professional's role as a trusted advisor to their company's IT team."

Each seminar will feature best practices insights designed to help participants improve delivery performance. Presenters will share success stories and provide practical how-to's participants can immediately begin using in their organizations.

The first online seminar to be held on Thursday, January 27 at 1:00pm EST will feature Business Intelligence expert Laura Reeves, author of "A Manager's Guide to Data Warehousing." A recognized thought leader and educator, Laura pioneered the Business Dimensional Lifecycle™, an industry accepted building block methodology for data warehouse development. Laura will discuss how Business Dimensional Modeling (BDM) can help solve the one of the most common causes of BI project failure: end-user dissatisfaction. Specifically, participants will learn how to:

  • Design Business Dimensional Models that answer user's most critical business questions.
  • Convert those models into working solutions from prototype to production; with continual refinement from the business throughout the development process.

"I am thrilled to kick off the first Business Intelligence Knowledge Exchange seminar," says Laura Reeves. "The only way to make real BI delivery improvements is to know where you are, where you need to go, and how to best get there. That's precisely what our sessions are intended to do in very practical terms for BI delivery teams."
