Band Metrics Announces Advisory Board

ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwire - December 18, 2008) - Band Metrics, a TechCrunch50 2008 semi-finalist, announced today the formation of its initial advisory board, a diverse group of music industry veterans and music technology experts.

Barney has over thirty-five years of deep music industry experience and is well known for his work at the legendary indie label I.R.S., as well as at Warner Bros. where he was head of pop radio promotion, working with R.E.M., Madonna, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Seal, Faith Hill and many other global acts. Barney also created and managed the radio campaign that resulted in Cher's stunning 1999 comeback and No.1 single, "Believe." Barney was also an executive with Capricorn Records. Since 2001, he has released recordings for The Radiators, Oteil and the Peacemakers, and has managed the legendary pianist/conductor Peter Nero.

---Bruce Houghton, Founder and President, Skyline Music:

As the head of Skyline Music, a boutique booking agency that has represented national and international artists for twenty-five years, Bruce oversees the management of 40 exclusive artists like Solomon Burke, Michelle Shocked and John Sebastian. Additionally, Bruce is the founder and editor of Hypebot, a leading music industry blog that discusses the convergence of music and technology.

---Parag Chordia, Assistant Professor, Georgia Tech Center for Music Technology:

Professor Chordia received his PhD in media 'Computer-based Music theory and Acoustics' from Stanford University's CCRMA, and his BA in Applied Mathematics from Yale University. His research includes Music Information Retrieval (MIR) and Music Cognition research. Additionally, Parag founded Bol Records, an Indian classical music label, where he served as CEO and artistic director. Most recently, he co-founded Yaari.com, a social networking tool for South Asians.
