Bangor Courtyard Sponsors UMaine Women's Basketball Golf Classic

BANGOR, ME--(Marketwire - Jun 25, 2012) - Nearby Orono is the center of Black Bear country -- not the actual bears, but University of Maine Black Bear athletics! And in an ongoing show of Black Bear pride, the Courtyard by Marriott Bangor is proud to once again sponsor the annual UMaine Women's Basketball Golf Classic at the Penobscot Valley Country Club, Monday, September 17^th, 2012.

Now in its 18^th year, the Golf Classic is hosted by the Friends of Maine Women's Basketball, and features special hole features and prizes, open and women's division with an Oldsmobile Handicap System. In addition, each team will get a chance to have their photo taken alongside head coach Richard Barron and a chance to meet and greet the 2012-13 Black Bears!

Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by a lunch at 12:00 p.m. at the Clubhouse, with a shotgun start kicking off the four-person scramble format at 1:00 p.m. $125 per golfer includes a cart, lunch and all the festivities. Those interested in just attending the lunch can do so for $25.

Space is limited so Black Bear fans are encouraged to register early for a wonderful day of golf and fun!
