Bank Technology News Names Citigroup's Tracey Weber Mobile Banker of the Year

Honored for Focus on the Customer Experience and iPad, Kindle, and Smartphone Banking Apps

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - Jun 1, 2012) - Bank Technology News has named Citigroup Managing Director Tracey Weber as the 2012 Mobile Banker of the Year.

An affiliate of American Banker, Bank Technology News (BTN) is the leading information resource for professionals and executives focused on bank technology.

Weber, who joined Citi from Barnes & Noble in 2010, and was previously president, North America, for Travelocity, oversees the bank's consumer internet and mobile banking in North America. In selecting Weber, the editors of BTN cited her strong, customer-oriented leadership. On Weber's watch, Citi launched an iPad app, an Amazon Kindle Fire app, and a new smartphone platform, in addition to delivering mobile remote deposit capture and person-to-person payment capabilities. BTN editors took notice of the graphically rich design of Citi's iPad app, contrasting it favorably to many other bank offerings created for the device.

"As the pace of mobile adoption accelerates across all consumer markets, it is no surprise that we found many strong contenders for this year's Mobile Banker of the Year," said BTN Editor-in-Chief Penny Crosman. "Tracey Weber stood out for her ability to deliver new products quickly without sacrificing the user experience."

Weber's work at Citi is the focus of BTN's June cover story (www.americanbanker.com/btn/25_6/) along with the achievements of six other top leaders in mobile banking. Weber is also featured in a series of online video interviews that are available today at http://www.americanbanker.com/technology/

Tracey Weber will accept her award and speak at SourceMedia's Mobile Banking & Commerce Summit (http://www.americanbanker.com/conferences/mobile/) on June 11 at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco. SourceMedia is the parent of Bank Technology News and American Banker.

BTN introduced the Mobile Banker of the Year Awards in 2011. Last year's honoree was Dominic Venturo, chief innovation officer at U.S. Bank.
