Banking Expert Gerard Caprio, Jr. Joins Milken Institute's Center for Financial Markets

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwired - Sep 11, 2014) - The Milken Institute today announced that Gerard Caprio, Jr. has joined its Washington-based Center for Financial Markets (CFM) as a senior fellow focused on global banking and financial regulation.

Caprio's distinguished career spans the worlds of academia, government, international financial institutions, and the private sector. He is the William Brough Professor of Economics at Williams College and chair of the College's Center for Development Economics. From 1988 to 2005 he served in a number of senior roles at The World Bank, including director of its Financial Sector Operations and Policy Department and the head of its Financial Sector Research Group. Caprio is the co-editor of the Journal of Financial Stability and the author or co-author of numerous books and research papers. He has co-authored several works with other Milken Institute senior fellows and is a founding contributor to CFM's platform.
