Bark-the-Vote: Dogs Pick Their Choice for President at World's Largest Canine Costume Party

LONG ISLAND, NY--(Marketwire - November 2, 2008) - With Senator Barack Obama and Senator John McCain running neck and neck in the Presidential election, dogs will be casting early ballots in hopes of swaying votes. "Bark the Vote" will take place on Sunday, November 2nd (Main Street, Cold Spring Harbor, NY), at the world's largest canine costume party. A voting booth will be available for pooches to make the most important decision of their lives.

"We expect a fair contest between Bark Obama and John McCanine. We just hope the winner signs a bill into law that allows us to legally sleep on the couch," said Corky Nightingale, a Westie and Howl-Ween Founder.

Canines from all over the world are planning to participate in this chic canine costume parade and "Paws for A Cause" festival. Spectators will line Main Street to see canines model their finest costumes as they march to the tune "Who Let The Dogs Out!" The parade will begin at Main Street (25A) and Spring St. at 12 noon and will end at Cold Spring Harbor Park where canine celebrities will be greeted by "Pupparazzi" as they enter the park on the "Red Carpet."

A percentage of proceeds raised from Howl-Ween will support several organizations focused on "rescue dogs and dogs that rescue" including NY Animal Rescue Foundation and Town of Huntington Animal Shelter.

Howl-Ween afternoon activities include:

-- Canine Costume Parade
-- Ruff, Rhythm & Blues Festival: Featuring the Tash Brothers
-- Woofstock
-- Vidog Sasson Corner: Where canines and owners can be groomed
-- Feasts for Beasts
