Barrow, Alaska to be Renamed JOLT, Alaska

Summer Solstice Rescue Mission Planned, at the Top of the U.S.A.

ROCHESTER, NY--(Marketwire - June 19, 2008) - As the summer sun reaches its maximum height in the northern hemisphere, JOLT, the "Official Energy Drink of the Summer Solstice," will mount a rescue mission to alleviate the debilitating effects of being up too long on the longest day of the year. JOLT will air-lift cases of the energy drink to Barrow, Alaska, the northernmost city in the U.S., population 4,065.

In gratitude, and perhaps to facilitate the air delivery, Barrow mayor Michael Stotts has decreed that for the (24-hour) day of June 20, Barrow will be officially renamed JOLT, Alaska. Mayor Stotts states, "The residents of Barrow have been working longer and playing harder from all this sunshine. We need an energy boost from JOLT!"

The emergency boosts will be distributed to the sleep-deprived townsfolk precisely at the solstice (7:59 PM EDT, June 20) which will be exactly five weeks and six days after sunrise with five weeks and six days until nightfall. "We will not stand idly by and let the citizens of Barrow go unenergized through their 1,992-hour day," says C. J. Rapp, President, Founder and Dean of Caffeine of JOLT parent company, Wet Planet Beverages in Rochester, N.Y.

Initially launched in 1985, JOLT was the first energy drink. JOLT -- which has always been known for its caffeine -- added more active ingredients such as: taurine, guarana, ginseng and vitamin B complex. Whether in JOLT, Alaska, or the Continental U.S., JOLT's resealable cap is user-friendly and allows hours of carbonated energy, unlike other energy drinks that fall flat after opening.

JOLT. Energizing the planet since 1985.
