Bars at Luxury Mayfair Hotel to Offer Exclusive Award-Season Cocktails

LONDON--(Marketwire - Feb 12, 2013) - The UK is home to some of the most talented names in film, and in honour of their achievements and those who will be recognised at this year's awards ceremonies, the Grosvenor House, A JW Marriott Hotel has created an all-star cast of its own.

In honour of key nominees at this year's Academy Awards, BAFTAs and Golden Globes, this five-star hotel in London has created a menu of specialty cocktails, each offering a nod to one this year's best films. Order these cocktails at The Red Bar or The Bourbon Bar, where they'll be available until 28 February 2013.

The Great Emancipator is a nod to Steven Spielberg's Lincoln and features fresh orange and basil muddled with Demerara sugar and Bittermens Xocolatl Mole bitters. It's then topped with Old Fitzgerald bourbon and served over crushed ice with an orange peel in an old-fashioned glass.

The Les Misérables-inspired French Revolution, also available at this central London hotel, combines freshly muddled raspberries and blackberries with almond syrup, which is then shaken with Ciroc French vodka and cranberry juice, and then layered with double cream and Chambord French raspberry liqueur. It's served over crushed ice in a tall glass with fresh raspberry garnish.

In honor of 007 and Skyfall, The Perfect Vesper combines Ketel One vodka shaken with Death's Door Gin and Lillet Blanc. The concoction is poured into a martini glass with a Turkish Lemon Delight base at the bottom. Enjoy every last drop using the long, silver spoon.

While the property conveyed in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel is no luxury Mayfair hotel, it did inspire the IPA (India Pineapple Ale). Fresh pineapple is flamed with white sugar, muddled with fresh mint, served with gin and topped with India Pale Ale. It's served in a tall beer glass with a fresh pineapple and mint garnish.

Keira Knightley may be the star of Anna Karenina, but Russian Standard vodka plays the starring role in the Russian Mule. Infused with fresh ginger, shaken with homemade lime syrup and freshly squeezed lime juice and then topped with ginger beer, this vodka cocktail is served over ice with candied ginger.

This hotel's Great Room, one of Europe's largest ballrooms, is the venue for this year's exclusive BAFTA dinner on 10 February, but its numerous restaurants serve various cuisines and experiences to guests year-round.
