BASF Receives Diversity Management Progress Award From DiversityInc

FLORHAM PARK, NJ--(Marketwired - Oct 17, 2013) - DiversityInc last night presented BASF Corporation with the Top Company for Diversity Management Progress Award for 2013 at its Special Awards Event in New York City.

"With strong support from senior leadership, BASF has launched an executive diversity council with goals and metrics; started a formal cross-cultural mentorship program; doubled its resource group participation; and increased purchases from diverse suppliers by 400 percent. BASF is committed to using diversity management as a strategic way to bring innovative solutions to the marketplace," said Luke Visconti, CEO of DiversityInc.

These Diversity Management programs helped BASF to make the Top 50 Companies for Diversity List for the first time in 2013. BASF ranked 31st on the DiversityInc list.

"BASF is working to attract and retain the best people, and to create an inclusive environment in which everyone is valued for their differences," said Patricia Rossman, Chief Diversity Officer, BASF Corporation. "Diversity Management is an essential part of this effort. Receiving this recognition from DiversityInc tells us we are on the right path with the changes that we are implementing."
