"Batman" Is Back on AmericanLife TV

Batmans Collide in July -- "The Dark Knight" Hits Movie Theaters and The Original "Batman" Series Is Featured on AmericanLife TV

WASHINGTON, DC--(Marketwire - July 8, 2008) - AmericanLife TV Network (http://www.americanlifetv.com), the cable network devoted to the Baby Boomer generation, will feature "Batman" the original series starring Adam West (Batman) and Burt Ward (Robin) in conjunction with the release of the new Batman movie, "The Dark Knight" with Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne and co-star Heath Ledger as The Joker, which is scheduled to hit theaters nationwide on July 18th.

The original Batman is featured on AmericanLife TV in July, with episodes airing on Fridays at 9:00p.m. and 11:00p.m. ET, (6 and 8p.m. PT).

"No matter how many versions of Batman hit the screen, if you grew up in the sixties, Batman still brings to mind the series starring Adam West and Burt Ward and the theme song you can never ever get out of your head," comments Vice President of Programming for ALN Mark Ringwald.

Besides the memorable theme song, the series featured outlandish plots, garish colors and over-the-top contrivances such as large graphic "Pows" and "Thuds" appearing in the midst of fight sequences. Neither audiences nor the actors took Batman too seriously, and yet it attracted a number of celebrity guest stars and villains, including Cesar Romero (The Joker), Burgess Meredith (The Penguin), Vincent Price (Egghead) and Eartha Kitt (Catwoman). It was one of few TV series to be seen on two different nights with a "how will the Dynamic Duo escape?" cliffhanger ending the first night. The original series earned Emmy nominations and spawned a feature film version released by 20th Century-Fox in July 1966. Batman aired from January 1966 to March 1968 and has remained a favorite among "Batman" fans.

In addition to "Batman," AmericanLife TV will also feature primetime series highlights in July that will include some of America's favorite classics, including: "Mission: Impossible," "St. Elsewhere," "Hill Street Blues," "LA Law," "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," "Newhart," "WKRP in Cincinnati," "Lou Grant," "Combat," "Burke's Law," "Lost in Space," "Trapper John, MD," "The Honeymooners," "The Green Hornet" and "Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea" to name a few.
