Battle of the Sexes: Who Manages Their Finances the Best?

Find out How Men and Women Manage Their Finances Differently in the Mars vs. Venus Infographic

CHARLESTON, SC--(Marketwired - October 09, 2014) - Today CompareCards, a credit card comparison website, created an intriguing infographic that shows how men and women manage their finances differently.

The average American spends just under $52,000 per year on various expenses. Different pressures from society seem to be the driving forces between how and why spending differs by gender. The infographic, Mars vs. Venus, gives a side-by-side comparison in different categories such as credit, spending, budgeting, and where each sex spends most of their money.

"We wanted to create a fun infographic that could shine some light on how spending and saving patterns differ by gender, especially with the holidays around the corner," said Chris Mettler. "It's very interesting to see which spending category is most important for males and females."

Like recent infographics CompareCards published this year, the Mars vs. Venus Infographic is filled with facts and statistics related to credit. For example, men carry an average of 4.3% more debt than women do, but women use less of their available credit than men.

Does the saying, "men are from Mars and women are from Venus," actually hold true when it comes to spending, saving and managing money? Most people would be willing to bet men and women handle their money very differently; however, these surprising statistics reveal that men and women really aren't that different when it comes to finances.
