Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards Announce Peter A. Darbee, PG&E as 2009 Lifetime Achievement Winner

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwire - February 13, 2009) - The Independent Selection Panel of the Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards announced today Peter A. Darbee, Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President of PG&E Corporation, and President and Chief Executive Officer of Pacific Gas and Electric Company as the recipient of the 2009 Hall of Fame - Lifetime Achievement Award. A veteran of the energy, telecommunications, and investment banking industries, Darbee joined PG&E Corporation in 1999 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. As CFO, Darbee successfully led the design and execution of the financial restructuring of Pacific Gas and Electric Company. Darbee was appointed CEO of PG&E in December 2004 and is leading efforts at PG&E to fight climate change and promote clean energy.

Darbee, finalists and winners in six other award categories will be honored at the Bay Area CFO of the Year Awards on May 28, 2009 at the Palace Hotel, San Francisco. Now in its fourth year, the awards dinner has been a sell-out event, attended by prominent Bay Area business executives. All proceeds benefit Larkin Street Youth Services, the leading nonprofit providing housing, education, job assistance, medical and social services to homeless and high risk youth in San Francisco.

Nominations are being solicited for Bay Area Chief Financial Officers who have made outstanding contributions to their company's performance as well as to the greater Bay Area business community in the following categories:

Community Service
Transformation Agent

Finalists and winners will be chosen by a blue ribbon independent Selection Panel comprised of business and academic leaders including, Andy D. Bryant, Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Office, Intel Corporation; Richard Fineberg, Retired Senior Partner, Deloitte; Mary Huss, Publisher, San Francisco Business Times; Richard Lyons, Dean, Haas School of Business, U.C. Berkeley; Ann Mather, Board of Directors, Google; and Phil Schlein, Venture Partner, U.S. Venture Partners.
