BC Achievement Foundation: 2015 BC Aboriginal Business Awards Call for Submissions Launched

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - May 13, 2015) - The BC Achievement Foundation that annually honours the best in Aboriginal business has issued its Call for Submissions for this prestigious award. The deadline for 2015 submissions is June 30, 2015. These Awards showcase the best of aboriginal businesses in British Columbia.

The BC Aboriginal Business Awards honour business excellence in the following categories: Young Entrepreneur, Joint Venture, Community-Owned and Business of the Year for one-to-two-person enterprises, three-to-10-person enterprises, and enterprises with 10 or more persons. An independent panel of judges representing Aboriginal business expertise throughout British Columbia will adjudicate the Awards. This selection panel is guided by the success and sustainability of the business.

"We are looking for submissions that highlight the work and success of aboriginal entrepreneurs of all sizes and types - small, medium, and large companies, joint venture firms, and community-owned and/or social enterprises in every possible field of business activity," notes Keith Mitchell, Chair of the BC Achievement Foundation.

Submissions can be made online at www.bcachievement.com/aboriginalbusiness.

Previous award recipients include construction companies, electronic communications firms, shellfish aquaculture, electrical contracting, aerial surveying and logging companies.

Award recipients will be celebrated at a Gala Presentation Ceremony and Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver on OCTOBER 14, 2015. Previous awardees say it is a thrill to have their businesses lauded by British Columbia's business community.

"What a wonderful event this Gala Presentation is. It is a very big honor to receive this award. I would like to thank my team - they are the ones who make things happen," says Jonathan Harwood, CEO, Harwood Custom Composites and past recipient of a Business of the Year Award.
