BC Health Coalition: Public Health Care Advocates Hit the Streets, Call on Citizens to "Vote Public Health Care" Before Tonight's Canadian Medical Association Town Hall

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - April 27, 2011) - "Vote Public Health Care" is the message that BC Health Coalition members and allies will be sending to attendees and the general public in advance of tonight's Canadian Medical Association-sponsored town hall in Vancouver.

The event, entitled "Health Care in Canada: Time to Rebuild Medicare", is the fifth in a national series of CMA–hosted town halls to discuss the future of health care. It comes in advance of Monday's federal election in which health care has emerged as the top issue.

The BCHC and allies, including Canadian Doctors for Medicare, will also attend the 7:00pm inside event to ensure that British Columbians' overwhelming support for Medicare is reflected in decision making at the CMA.
