B.C. PREMIER GORDON CAMPBELL AT QUEEN'S PARK TODAY

"GO HOME AND GET BACK TO THE TABLE WITH BC's TEACHERS," SAYS OFL Attention: City Editor, Education Editor, Media Editor, News Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor TORONTO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 13, 2005) - "Why is Gordon Campbell here in Ontario?" OFL president Wayne Samuelson is asking. "Why is he flying around Canada collecting air mile points instead of getting back to the bargaining table with BC's teachers?"

"If Gordon Campbell wants to get BC's teachers back in the classroom he should get back to the table and negotiate with them," says Samuelson. Our message to Premier Campbell is, "go home and negotiate with your teachers."

"After eight years of Mike Harris here in Ontario we've had enough anti-union Premiers at Queen's Park.

"Getting his province's teachers back in the classroom, by a negotiated settlement to this dispute should be his number one priority," Samuelson said. "He's obviously making no attempt to deal with the teachers' right to protest an unjust law, instead he just wants to legislate a contract and impose it on them."
