BCHC marks health conversation's final day with rally

Health conversation participants favour public solutions but government focuses of private, profit-schemes

Attention: City Editor, Health/Medical Editor, Media Editor, News Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor VANCOUVER/MEDIA ADVISORY--(Marketwire - July 6, 2007) - The BC Health Coalition marks the final stop of the provincial government's Conversation on Health with a rally in downtown Vancouver on Saturday at noon.

The event will include participants from 14 of the the government-sponsored public meetings that have been held across B.C. over the past six months.

They say that British Columbians attending the Conversation on Health sessions overwhelmingly want better public health care and support proven innovations and solutions within public health care facilities. But they're concerned that the provincial government isn't hearing the message and is intent on pursuing private, for-profit health care.

What: Rally to mark the final public meeting of the government's Conversation on Health
Where: Portal Park, corner of Thurlow and West Hastings, Vancouver
When: Saturday, July 7 at 12 noon
Who: Health conversation participants from across B.C.
