Beach Marketing Announces Celebrities Flocking to E Cigarettes

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL--(Marketwire - November 23, 2010) - Beach Marketing, Inc. reports on recent online marketing trends. The company recently reported that celebrities are starting to jump on the electronic cigarette (known as "e cigarettes" by most people) bandwagon.

The latest smoking cessation device that has hit the market, e cigarettes are becoming extremely popular among smokers looking for an alternative that can be smoked anywhere without odor, waste, and most of the toxins that are staples in traditional tobacco cigarettes.

Recent Internet research reported by Beach Marketing has found that even celebrities are finding electronic cigarettes an option for social smoking in places that do not allow the use of traditional cigarettes.

Perhaps the most public display of a celebrity using an e cigarette involved the star of "Knocked Up," Katherine Heigl. The Hollywood star, who also starred in Grey's Anatomy, appeared on Late Night With David Lettermen toting an electronic cigarette. The segment detailed her reasoning behind smoking e cigarettes and the host himself even took a puff of Heigl's device.

Other celebrities found online with links to electronic cigarettes include Leonardo DiCaprio, Nikki Reed, rocker Tom Petty, and the father of Britney Spears' children, Kevin Federline.

"Celebrity endorsements are the next step in the evolution of e cigarettes," said Angelina Contreras, a company spokesperson. "We are finding that with any market segment there is generally apprehension before a celebrity takes the leap of faith and puts their name on a product. It's still early in the e cigarette business, but once one company finds someone to be the face of their brand, there will be a domino effect."

Electronic cigarettes are typically found in retail malls and sold in kiosks in the United States. However, most people are finding out about them by doing Internet searches and trying to find e cigarette reviews in an effort to find the best brand of electronic cigarettes. The industry is making a trend that the company likes to call "a hockey stick" and is due for serious growth as most people are just finding out about these vaporized versions of cigarettes.
