Beaconsfield Adopts a Non-Violence Policy

BEACONSFIELD, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - March 29, 2016) - At the Council Meeting held on March 21, The City of Beaconsfield adopted a zero tolerance policy for maintaining a safe and healthy workplace for all.

This policy of non-violence targets both women and men: relationships between employees, elected officials, suppliers and citizens. It supports the values of health and safety which are integrity, respect, dignity and security.

"Harassment has no place. Violence in any form, physical or verbal, should not be tolerated for any reason. We value an environment where social dialogue is highly favoured. Civil rights include this privileged environment, but also impose obligations and moral duties," said Mayor Georges Bourelle.

With the slogan "Together for mutual respect", the City has launched a zero tolerance awareness campaign in the municipality for a healthy and safe environment.
