Government of Canada supports 37th annual Festivites Western de Saint-Victor


SAINT-VICTOR, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - May 20, 2015) - Department of Canadian Heritage

The Honourable Maxime Bernier, Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism, and Agriculture) and Member of Parliament (Beauce), on behalf of the Honourable Shelly Glover, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, today announced $27,100 in funding for the 37th annual Festivités Western de Saint-Victor, which will be taking place from July 17 to 26, 2015. This funding is being provided through the Local Festivals component of the Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program.

  • Under the theme Vivez la fougue Beauceronne! ("Beauce-feel the unbridled excitement!"), the 37th Festivités Western de Saint-Victor will feature five professional rodeos, performances, family activities, equestrian events, horseback riding, and commercial and craft exhibits in the heart of this village in the Beauce region.
  • This event-the largest country-western festival in Chaudière-Appalaches-makes Beauce a destination for more than 50,000 visitors each year, along with world champion rodeo performers from Canada and the United States.
  • The Building Communities Through Arts and Heritage program provides Canadians with more opportunities to take part in activities that present local arts and culture and celebrate local history and heritage.
