ATLANTA, GA--(Marketwired - October 05, 2016) - Beazley, a leading provider of specialist miscellaneous medical insurance, has strengthened its miscellaneous medical underwriting team with the addition of new underwriters in the company's Atlanta and Farmington, CT offices. These appointments add to Beazley's growing team addressing the needs of organizations in the healthcare industry, with a focus on hard to place risks.
Michaelene Waldron and Susan Hankins are joining Beazley from Allied World, where Waldron was a senior medical malpractice underwriter in their Farmington, CT office and Hankins was a senior healthcare underwriter based in Atlanta. Waldron will work in Beazley's Farmington office and focus on medical malpractice and life sciences risks. Hankins will cover duty to defend for hospitals and miscellaneous medical risks working out of Beazley's Atlanta office.
Beazley considers a wide range of risks on both a primary (duty to defend) and an excess basis in the miscellaneous healthcare sector with capacity of up to $25 million for firms with annual revenues of $10 million and greater. Industries served include healthcare staffing, home health, behavioral health, chemical detox, tissue/blood banks, organ procurement organizations, contract research organizations (CROs), correctional healthcare, medi-spas, occupational health, ground and air ambulances and dialysis clinics.
