Becoming a Personal Trainer

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM--(Marketwire - April 19, 2012) - If fitness is your life, but not your job now could well be the time to make the change. If a new career in the health and fitness industry sounds perfect for you, with just a little commitment you could be making that life changing decision before you know it.

Here personal training experts the Training Room give you the lowdown and a few tips on becoming a personal trainer.

Personal Trainer Courses

To qualify as a personal trainer you must first complete a Level 2 fitness instructor qualification. When looking to do this you must ensure that the course you enrol on is accredited by an awarding body such as Active IQ. Once you've completed this, to fully qualify as a personal trainer you'll need to move into a Level 3 Personal Trainer Course - this is the level you must achieve before you can be a practising personal trainer.

Having completed your qualifications; with a course such as those from the Training Room you'll be provided with the chance to secure the top personal trainer jobs within the industry.

How long will it take me to complete my course?

There are a variety of options for personal trainer courses available from the Training Room ranging from fast-track, to part-time to e-learning courses.

The fast-track option can be completed in six weeks, whereas part-time or e-learning are more flexible and can be organised around your own schedule, taking anything between three and six months.

What do personal trainers do?

Personal trainers are employed to help people achieve and maintain good physical health, to plan and implement exercise routines for individuals, and also provide them with advice on diet, nutrition and exercise techniques.

Whether you work in a gym environment or a more informal location, your key aim will be to help your clients achieve goals, while becoming and staying fit.
